Blue Domes and Endless Sunsets in Santorini

Every photo of Santorini looks staged until you're actually there and realize the blue domes and white walls really are that improbably perfect. We stayed in Oia mostly for the sunset, which lives up to the hype completely: the whole town turns out to watch, and somehow it never feels crowded.

We took a boat out to the volcanic hot springs one afternoon and spent the rest of our time doing very little, which felt like the correct way to visit a place this beautiful. The wine from the local vineyards, grown low to the ground against the wind, was a genuine surprise.
