April in Paris turned out to be exactly as promised: chestnut trees just starting to bloom along the Seine, cafe tables spilling onto the sidewalks the moment the sun came out. We spent a whole morning getting lost in the Marais on purpose, and it remains one of the best decisions of the trip.
The queue for the Eiffel Tower was long enough that we gave up and watched it sparkle from a bridge instead, which honestly might have been the better view. Notre-Dame's scaffolding is still up, but even half-hidden, it stopped us in our tracks.
