We were at Angkor Wat's outer moat by 5am, and it was still crowded, apparently everyone has the same idea. But when the sky actually turned pink behind the temple's silhouette, the crowd went quiet all at once, and it was easy to see why people keep coming back.
Beyond the main temple, Ta Prohm's tree roots swallowing entire stone walls felt like walking into an old adventure film. We spent our last evening at a night market in town, working through plates of amok and fresh sugarcane juice.
